Gendernauts
Got a review copy of the 1999 film Gendernauts by German filmmaker Monika Truet which just became available on DVD through First Run Features. Its kind of like an ethnography of the San Francisco FTM trans scene as it was in the late nineties when the world revolved around Stafford and Jordy Jones and performances by Elvis Herselvis. Overall an interesting film, it just suffers from being dated and focusing so much on a scene and clique that was hot then but has since been replaced by a whole different group of genderqueers and drag kings.
Still, definitely worth viewing for a sense of history and to see how some of the issues haven't changed, even if the names and faces have.

Have you heard about the novel, "After 9/11: A Korean Girl's Sexual Journey?"
I strongly believe that you will have something to say about it, and especially about Korean American, and Chapter 43, "9/11s are forgiveness," which makes "9/11" a general noun for the worst disaster that could happen in one's life. I have never seen any writer put it this way.
It is a very interesting book. If you want a closer look at this book, visit the author at http://www.youngheecha.com
